Safe, Well and Happy Partnership Invite

CalendarJane Parr from the NHS Learning Disabilities Services  came to talk to the Board in January to tell us about the Safe Well and Happy Partnerships.
Jane would like to invite carers and organisations to an event to look at how we can plan to work together.
This event is on the Wednesday 22nd March.

informationSince October 2014 everyone who meets the rules for a NSH Continuing Healthcare or Children’s Continuing Care Funding has a right to have a Personal Health Budget.

New sport sessions in Hinckley

informationFancy meeting new people and trying out some new sports activities?

Are you entitled to free swimming?

Did you know that you could  swim for free at Hermitage and Hood Park Leisure Centre?
The Leisure Link scheme is North West Leicestershire District Council’s concessionary access scheme for people with disabilities and their carers. Once  signed up to the scheme you can get money off most activities at the leisure centre. Joining fees costs £5.90 for residents.

Improving Lives: Green Paper

informationThe Department of Health says that they want to help everyone to be able to enjoy independence, security and good health that being at works brings.
They need to understand why Disabled people and people with health conditions might be unable to get a job or keep one.  They need a better understanding of the range of health conditions and circumstance people may face.
To read all about this in the improving lives green papers.  This is not in easy read.

Autism Spectrum Research Project

informationNewcastle University wants to find out more about the lives of adults on the autism spectrum and how people’s lives change.

You can read easy read information sheet  if you would like to join in the autism spectrum research project.  There ia also an easy read information sheet for family carers who would like to join in the project.

Whole Life Disability Plan

lcc-whole-life-disability-planThe council are writing a new plan called Whole Life Disability Strategy.  This means that the plan is for disabled children and disabled adults and their families.

The plan says how we will work alongside disabled people of all ages, their families and others to make sure the council gives them a good service.
