New easy read information
We have recently been making easy read documents that would be interesting to many people with learning disabilities. Please help to make these more widely known by passing this email on to colleagues who work with people who have difficulty in reading.
Please share this with other people who you think may be interested in this work. If you are a young person and want to complete the questionnaire but need some support to do it, ask someone you know to help you.

What folk said about giving people the right to have an integrated personal budget
The NHS has been looking at whether people should be given the right to have a personal health budget or an integrated personal budget which would cover both health and social care needs. There was a consultation document earlier this year. Recently they wrote a report to tell us what people said in the consultation. We made an easy read version of this report for them. Click here to download it.
We have prepared a short questionnaire to help us start our conversation with you. You can complete the online questionnaire or you can ask us for a paper copy that you can print out. Just tell us what’s best for you by calling 0116 305 0232 or emailing us at ASCengage@leics.gov.uk

We’d like you to complete and return the questionnaire to us by Monday 8 July but if you can’t, just send it back to us as soon as you can.

NHS partners will be visiting public venues in Shepshed and Blaby in March to discuss proposed improvements to the healthcare that patients receive in hospital, at home and in the local community.
The drop-in sessions will be held on:
Monday 18th March 2019, 1.00pm – 4.00pm, Shepshed Library, Hall Croft, Shepshed, LE12 9AN
Thursday 21st March 2019, 10.00 – 4.00pm, Blaby Library, Lutterworth Road, Blaby LE8 4DW.
The public can just drop-in for a chat and have a look at informative displays that include plans that could see significant investment in the outdated acute hospital estate in Leicester that will significantly improve services for the benefit of the local population. People will also be able to talk to representatives from NHS partner organisations about what matters most to them about NHS services.
They can also hear about the progress being made to keep more people well and out of hospital and provide better care in a crisis, as well as discussing the changes that will deliver more care close to home – particularly for those people who have one or more long term condition and those in need of high quality specialist care.
Further information on the work of the NHS can be found by visiting the Better Care Together website – the partnership site for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland www.bettercareleicester.nhs.uk
